No Lakeshore East GO train service this weekend

Lakeshore East rail service will be temporarily suspended from Friday August 11 at about 9:30 pm until end of service on Sunday August 13.

Regular service will resume on Monday, August 14.

GO shuttle buses will only be replacing train service for those travelling from the Durham College Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, and Pickering GO stations directly to Union Bus Station Terminal, said Metrolinx, operator of GO.

It said TTC will provide service to customers travelling between Rouge Hill-Danforth and Union Station.

“These temporary changes are critical for track maintenance near Whitby GO, bridge rehabilitation at Rouge Rive and Birchmount Road, Stouffville rail corridor expansion and platform work at Eglinton GO,” Metrolinx said.

It pointed out that buses do not have the same capacity as trains and shuttle buses may experience longer than normal travel times. Depending on destination, customers may wish to use other GO Transit options, including GO Bus Routes 92 or 96 to connect with local transit.
