Durham police are looking for a suspect who fired a gun during a fight early Saturday morning in Oshawa.
Officers from East Division were called to the area of King Street East and Eastlawn Street around 2:30 am on April 5 after receiving reports of an armed person. When they arrived, they found a single shell casing at the scene.
Investigators say the incident started as a verbal altercation between two groups who had just left a nearby bar. As the group crossed the street, the situation escalated into a physical fight. During the confrontation, one of the suspects reportedly pulled out a firearm and fired a shot into the air. The crowd quickly scattered before officers arrived.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as a Black male with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a ski mask, black puffer jacket, black pants, and black shoes.
Anyone with cell phone, dash cam, surveillance footage or information about this incident is asked to contact D/C O’Halloran of the East Crime Team of the Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2733.
