Police hold 72-year old for child luring, look for more victims

A 72-year-old man has been charged in connection with a child luring investigation, Durham Regional Police said.

The suspect was arrested on Tuesday, April 8, by members of the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, following an investigation that began after he allegedly began communicating online with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl.

Police allege the man, using the username ‘JuniorJohnson’, sent sexually explicit messages and images and requested photos in return.

Officers executed Criminal Code search warrants at two homes in Hamilton, where the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators believe there could be additional victims and are urging anyone with information to contact police.

A 72-year-old male from Hamilton was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
