Shot fired through glass door into Whitby residence

Durham Regional Police are investigating after a bullet pierced a glass door and entered a residence in Whitby late Tuesday night.

According to police, officers from Central West Division responded to a report of an armed person around 11:25 pm on July 1. The incident occurred in the area of Prince of Wales Drive and Regal Briar Street.

When officers arrived, they located a bullet inside the home. Although the residence was occupied at the time, no injuries were reported.

Police believe the firearm was discharged from the nearby greenspace east of Prince of Wales Drive, with the bullet travelling into the home.

Investigators are asking anyone with information or video footage—including dash cam or home surveillance—from the area of Prince of Wales Drive to Scott Street, and Dundas Street East to Manning Road between 11:15 pm and 11:40 pm to come forward.
