Some Durham drivers are just incorrigible: police

There is an old adage that talks of you taking a horse to water but not being able to force it to drink. That saying is not limited to just horses (or other recalcritant animals), but to some humans too.

A seemingly disappointed DRPS Traffic Services officer yesterday reported a case of “another driver who is not getting the point”.

It turns out the motorist in question (image above) had prior stunt driving related convictions, and again yesterday this driver was stopped at Pickering Concession Road 9 and Sideline 4 going 100 kmh in a posted 60 kmh zone.

The driver’s vehicle was impounded, the licence suspended and multiple charges were laid, police said.

Meanwhile, DRPS West Division yesterday put up speed board trailers on Glenview Street in the City of Pickering and on Audley Road South in the Town of Ajax.

“Please, slow down in community safety zones,” it urged drivers.

DRPS North Division officers conducted traffic enforcement in Leaskdale in Uxbridge yesterday afternoon.

“Please obey the speed limit,” they said.
