Speeding with obscured plate and no papers to show

Rain, slick roads and reduced visibility are of no concerns to some drivers in Durham as this one (image below) showed the watching police.

DRPS Traffic Services officers were along Highway 7 and Salem Road in the City of Pickering, when they clocked a speeding driver.

It turned out that the vehicle’s service plate paint was sliding off.

The driver then proceeded to fail to surrender ownership and insurance papers.

Appropriate charges were laid, said police reminding drivers to ensure they have all their valid documents.

Another speeding driver was caught by Durham Regional Police (DRPS) North Division officers in Scugog.

Speeding 81 in a 50kmh zone in the rain is not safe, said a police tweet.

“Driving in the rain reduces visibility and reaction time. Slow down, use your headlights and keep a safe distance. Please obey the speed limit, it added
