Stolen car linked to LCBO theft ends up in crash, arrests

Durham Regional Police have charged two men and one male youth in connection with a theft from an LCBO store in Port Perry.

According to police, officers from North Division were called to the LCBO at 1565 Highway 7A on Friday, May 2, around 7:30 pm after receiving a report of a theft. The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a stolen vehicle before officers arrived.

Shortly afterward, the vehicle was involved in a minor single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 12 and Reach Street. Police located the car and arrested all three occupants without incident. No injuries were reported.

Further investigation revealed that one of the suspects is believed to be connected to multiple LCBO thefts across the Greater Toronto Area.

The investigation is ongoing.

A 26-year-old male from Markham, and a 19-year-old male from Vaughan were both charged and held for bail hearings. A 17-year-old male from Vaughan was charged and was released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
