Suspect throws store goods at staff after altercation

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday asked residents to step forward and help solve a crime.

It said investigators are looking for assistance identifying this individual [image above] after an altercation at a store on Brock Street South in Whitby.

The altercation caused an employee minor injuries.

On March 12 at 7:08 pm, DRPS attended 321 Brock Street South in Whitby. A male entered the store and became involved in an altercation with a store employee. The male then picked up items in the store and began to throw them at the employee, he then punched him in the back. The male fled the location and has yet to be identified or located, said a police statement.

Video footage captured the male leaving the store. Investigators are looking for assistance identifying the individual.

The suspect is described as male, Black, 30-35 years, black brush cut hair wearing a blue sweater, grey jeans, white/grey Nike basketball running shoes and winter jacket with a fur hood.
