Three options for new Central Oshawa GO Station land use

The City of Oshawa has announced that planning for land uses and transportation around the future Central Oshawa GO Station is moving forward to Stage 2.

It said there are three land use alternatives, developed for the study area surrounding the planned Central Oshawa GO Station.

A Master Land Use Plan and Area-specific Transportation Master Plan for the Central Oshawa Major Transit Station Area (MTSA) is underway. The MTSA is centered by the proposed Central Oshawa GO Station site located at 500 Howard Street, northeast of Simcoe Street South and First Avenue.

The second stage of the study introduces and gathers feedback on three land use alternatives for the study area, along with the draft future transportation analysis, urban design plan and implementation guidelines, and the evaluation criteria for the land use alternatives, the city said.

Community members have been invited to provide feedback on three land use alternatives.

They can view the project background and complete a feedback form on Connect Oshawa (ConnectOshawa.ca/MTSAStudy) or on paper at Service Oshawa, located at City Hall (50 Centre Street South).

Attend the Stage 2 Public Information Centre on June 28 from 6 pm to 8:30 pm, in-person at Oshawa City Hall, or virtually.

Feedback will be received until noon on July 21, and will be considered in a future staff report to be presented to the Economic and Development Services Committee, the city said.
