Two teens found with stolen vehicle held and released

Durham Regional Police have arrested two males after locating a stolen vehicle during a proactive patrol in Oshawa.

According to police, on Saturday, May 17, at about 8:15 pm, officers from Central East Division were patrolling in the area of Bloor Street East and Park Road South when they received an alert from their Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system. The system indicated that a nearby black Toyota Rav4 had been reported stolen.

Officers located the vehicle travelling eastbound on Bloor Street East and conducted a traffic stop. Two male suspects were taken into custody without incident.

An 18-year-old male and a 16-year-old male, both from Oshawa, were charged and released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
