Wanted in human trafficking case arrested

Durham Police investigators have arrested the 25-year-old male who was wanted in a human trafficking investigation in Durham Region.

On January 7 the wanted suspect was arrested in Hamilton with the assistance of the Hamilton Police Service.

Daniel Kaniki, age 25 of No Fixed Address, has been charged with: Procuring Person to Provide Sexual Services for Consideration; Financial Benefit Trafficking Person Over 18 Years of Age; Material Benefit from Sexual Services; Trafficking in Persons by Exercising Control; Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration and Advertising Another Person’s Sexual Services. He was held for a bail hearing.
