Whitby business targeted in second shooting

Durham Police are searching for suspects after shots were fired toward a business in Whitby.

On Sunday, January 26, at about 7:50 pm, members of Central West Division say they responded to a shooting at a business in the area of Hopkins Street and Nichol Avenue.

An employee pulled into a parking lot when shots were fired toward the business and his vehicle. The victim did not sustain any injuries, police said.

The suspects fled the area prior to police arrival.

Police said this business was also the target of a shooting on Thursday, January 23 (see below).

Police are asking anyone that was in the area between 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm, with cell phone, dash cam, surveillance footage or information about this incident is asked to contact Det. Smith of the West Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1905.
