Housing Corp to build 165 affordable homes in Oshawa

Durham Regional Local Housing Corporation is proposing to build 165 affordable homes on Christine Crescent in Oshawa.

The development will consist of a six-storey apartment building with 141 units and a four-storey stacked townhouse building with 24 units with shared open space and surface and underground parking, said a city statement issued yesterday.

The proposed affordable housing development is at 419 to 451 Christine Crescent, including the Christine Crescent road allowance.

The Regional Municipality of Durham on behalf of the Durham Regional Local Housing Corporation has applied to amend the Oshawa Official Plan to add a site specific policy to permit the proposed residential density of 211 units per net hectare.

The Oshawa Economic and Development Services Committee will be considering the above referenced application for the lands as shown shaded on the map (below) at the public meeting. The application has been determined to be complete.

The public meeting will be held on February 3 at Oshawa City Hall on 50 Centre Street South, Members of the public can participate in-person, electronically, or by submitting written comments.
