One of our prized possessions is our car, and many of us – especially the young ‘uns – like to add a bit of a jazz to our vehicles to be striking, loud and different.
But there are certain things that we need to know – and one of them is what needs to be done if you modify your car.
Last week Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) East Division officers caught two vehicles in a row, both with a different outer colour that when they were originally manufactured in.
“Did you know – when you change a vehicles colour, you need to get a new ownership, which shows the new colour?” officers asked.
160 tickets
Over two days last week, officers in East Division partnered with Ministry of Transport Ontario (MTO), Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Regional Traffic Engineers in a modified motor vehicle, commercial vehicle safety initiative.
“Over the two days, 160 tickets were issued, and three vehicles were taken off the road. Thank you to everyone who participated,” said a police alert.
