Clarington honors Hamlin Grange with Mayor’s Challenge Coin

The Clarington Mayor’s Office Challenge Coin was presented to resident Hamlin Grange, as part of Black History Month celebrations to recognize the contributions and legacy of the Black community in Clarington.

“It’s fitting that we honour Hamlin Grange, whose pioneering work in diversity and inclusion has made a profound impact. It is with great pleasure that I present the Clarington Mayor’s Challenge Coin to our own Hamlin Grange for his dedication to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion,” said Mayor Adrian Foster.

“As the founder of a leading diversity consultancy, co-founder of a respected non-profit organization, and former journalist and mentor, Mr. Grange has passionately championed social justice. Mr. Grange has received numerous awards, including being invested into the Order of Canada, recognizing his exceptional contributions to our nation,” the mayor continued.

According to the mayor’s office, the Mayor’s Challenge Coin is a symbol of appreciation and gratitude from the mayor to residents who have made an impact on the community. The recipients are Clarington residents who have contributed to the community in ways such as volunteering, fundraising, organizing, educating, or advocating.
