Complaints lead to speed limit cut on part of Thornton

Residents complaints seem to be having an impact with Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) responding to racing complaints by reducing speed on a road in Oshawa.

DRPS Central West Division yesterday announced that the speed limit on Thornton Road North between Dryden Boulevard and King Street West in Oshawa has been lowered from a 60kmh zone to a 50kmh zone.

It said speed enforcement by DRPS will continue as this area is a source of regular speeding complaints.

“Please drive safely,” it added.
