Driver asks officer for parking, gets charged over baby

Imagine approaching a police officer for help and getting stuck with a ticket? That’s exactly what DRPS Traffic Services reported yesterday.

It said a car pulled into its collision reporting centre parking lot and the driver asked an officer about where to park.

Ironically, the officer who was about to leave work, noticed an 18 month baby in rear seat on an adult’s lap.

There was an empty child car seat in the other seat.

When asked why the baby was not strapped in, dad stated: “She didn’t feel well”.

Charges were laid.

Meanwhile, DRPS Traffic Services warned drivers that just because it may be night and no construction workers are present, does not mean the speed limit changes.

Even if the posted limit was back to 80kmh these speeds (below) are excessive.

The incident was recorded at Brock and Whitevale Road in the City of Pickering.

Appropriate charges laid, said a tweet last Thursday.
