Four in car caught for shooting at passers-by with BB gun

Durham Police today said it is seeking witnesses after four males wee arrested in Whitby.

The suspects are currently facing charges after shooting at pedestrians from a moving vehicle with a BB gun in Whitby, said a police statement.

On Wednesday, May 24 at about 6:45 pm, members of Central West Division responded to the area of Thickson Road and Crawforth Street in Whitby for reports of an armed person.

Witnesses provided information that a group of males were shooting at pedestrians from a moving vehicle. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and took four males in custody, police said.

Investigators are appealing for anyone that witnessed or is a victim of this event to come forward. Further, anyone who has any cellphone video or dashcam video is asked to contact police.

Two 17-year-old males and two 18-year-old males have been charged with Possession of Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace.
