Two suspects are wanted for a banking scam in which they impersonated bank officials to fraudulently obtain debit and credit cards.
On April 27, the victim was contacted by two suspects who claimed to be representatives of his bank. The suspects told the victim his debit and credit cards had been compromised and needed to be replaced via secure courier. The suspects attended the victim’s residence in Oshawa, and took the victim’s credit and debit cards, said a police report.
The suspects subsequently used the victim’s debit and credit cards to purchase gift cards at a retail location in Toronto.
The first suspect is described as: male, Brown, with black hair. He was wearing a black vest with a red collar and white emblem on the upper left chest, black pants, and white running shoes.
The second suspect is described as: male, Black. He was wearing a black hooded sweater, green pants, and white running shoes.

Text Message Scam Asking for Payment of Penalties
The City of Oshawa, meanwhile, said it has become aware that residents have received suspicious text messages asking for payment of outstanding penalties.
“The City of Oshawa does not send text messages about parking violations, tickets or penalties of any kind. If you receive a text message of this nature, do not click on any links or provide personal information,” it advised.
