We have written about the magnetic ability of hydro poles to frequently attract Durham drivers.
Well, it has happened again – for the eighth time this year.
On Tuesday, Oshawa Power announced that a driver, in clear morning light, managed to veer off the road and hit a hydro pole.
The embrace was forceful and the pole could not bear it and broke, bringing live wires down to the ground.
This morning we have a crew working to repair a broken pole on Oxford Street caused by a motor vehicle accident, said Oshawa Power on Tuesday.
“There are wires down. Please be safe if you are in the area, drive with caution and give the first responders all the space they need,” it said.
Temporary power outage affected 54 customers in Northwest Oshawa.
