Lisa Robinson denies trashing the Conservative Party

The People’s Party of Canada (PPC) candidate for the Pickering-Brooklin riding has denied that she is on an offensive against the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC).

To be clear, I haven’t ‘trashed’ the CPC. I’ve simply spoken the truth about where I stand, what I believe in, and why I chose to run with the PPC. If that’s being spun as ‘sour grapes’, then perhaps someone is uncomfortable with honest conversations about principles and direction,” said Robinson, a former CPC candidacy aspirant, while responding to an inquiry from Durham Post.

Earlier, announcing her PPC candidacy (see below), Robinson had said: “Take a moment to hear what’s really been happening. The Conservative Party handpicked their candidate ‘a fake conservative’ and cancelled the nomination vote. The people never got to choose — and that’s not democracy. I’m the only true conservative in this race — and the only one that’s been fighting for the people!”

A CPC source told Durham Post that Robinson had been pushing to be a CPC candidate till as late as early January. “The party did not want her.”

“I am writing to once again formally request the application materials and any relevant details to begin the process of seeking nomination as a candidate for the next federal elections under Pierre Poilievre’s leadership,” said a purported email from Robinson dated January 5.

“I am passionate about representing our shared values and am eager to contribute to the party’s vision for a stronger Canada. Please let me know how I can obtain the application package and any associated guidelines or deadlines to ensure a smooth submission process,” said the email.

This was followed up the next day by another email reportedly sent by Robinson saying: “I am writing to kindly follow up as I have not yet received a response to my previous inquiry. Could you please send me the application for the nomination in Pickering-Brooklin at your earliest convenience?

“I am eager to join and contribute as part of the Conservative team under the strong and principled leadership of Pierre Poilievre. It would be an honour to work alongside like-minded individuals dedicated to advancing Conservative values and delivering meaningful results for our communities.”
