Move over for emergency vehicles… or be charged

Durham Police yesterday charged a truck driver in Pickering for not moving over for emergency vehicles The incident occurred at Brock Road.

The driver of the truck (above) had a fire truck approach with siren on and lights flashing. The truck driver should have immediately moved to the right and stopped instead of driving down the shoulder.

The driver was charged, said a Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) tweet.

Stunt Driving: DRPS Traffic Services stopped a truck was stunt driving on Brock Road where it is a 60kmh construction zone.

After the truck passed me I initiated the stop, 30 day licence suspension and 14 day vehicle impoundment, tweeted the officer.

Taunton not 401: DRPS Traffic Services said the Taunton Road in Ajax is not the Highway 401.

This section of Taunton Rd is a 70kmh zone and is actively patrolled by our officers, it said after stopping a driver doing 109kmh (see below).

Construction Zone: A little ahead on Taunton Road in Clarington, officers from the DRPS East Division stopped a driver for doing 116kmh in a 60 construction zone.

The incident was reported at Taunton Road and Main Street.

Both east- and west-bound lanes were a posted 80kmh zone. But they are now a 60kmh zone as it is a road construction site, with workers present.

“Keep our road crews safe! Slow down!” said a DRPS tweet.

Traffic enforcement was also carried out by DRPS North Division Traffic. Officers conducted radar checks at Mara Road at Lakeland Crescent, in Beaverton.

“Please obey the speed limit,” said a tweet.
