Metrolinx, the operator of GO Transit has announced that there will be no train service on Lakeshore East this coming weekend.
Additionally, some late-night service will be adjusted Friday, June 5.
Regular service will resume on Monday, June 8.
From Saturday, June 6, until end of service on Sunday, June 7, Lakeshore East rail service will be temporarily modified to accommodate major track upgrades,” said a statement.
“During this time, there will be no GO train service on the Lakeshore East line. GO buses will replace train service at all stations except for Rouge Hill, Guildwood, Eglinton, Scarborough, and Danforth GO stations.
- GO replacement buses will operate between Durham College Oshawa and Pickering GO, then run direct to Union Station Bus Terminal.
- There will be no GO Transit service at Rouge Hill, Guildwood, Eglinton, Scarborough, and Danforth GO stations. Customers traveling to and from those stations are encouraged to use the TTC.
Replacement GO buses may depart at different times than train schedules and bus connections for GO bus route 88 may be affected. Plan ahead and check schedules before you travel.
The train service suspension is required to make essential improvements that will support faster, more frequent GO service as part of GO Expansion. It will allow Metrolinx to work on the future Ontario Line subway and to support infrastructure for the future East Harbour Transit Hub, Metrolinx said.
