The Atmospheric Fund (TAF) has cited Oshawa’s move towards electric vehicles infrastructure as a model to be adopted by other municipalities.
Oshawa last month announced the installation of 16 electric vehicle (EV) chargers across city facilities.
“This is the leadership we need across all municipalities in the GTHA (Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area),” said TAF.
This initiative aligns with local climate goals and gives residents the certainty they need to switch to an EV, it said in a series of recent tweets.
It said the EV stations are fully accessible, convenient and within a distance that is economically feasible for the community.
This project was funded by TAF’s EV Station Fund via Natural Resources Canada.
