Parents itch over glitch in DDSB progress report portal

Tech personnel at the Durham District School Board (DDSB) and its vedor had to go on overdrive yesterday as glitches marred the launch of the latest progress report portal for both elementary and secondary students.

“You may have already received an update. Our apologies for any duplication,” said a DDSB statement released on social media.

It said a message was sent to parents and guardians yesterday afternoon, notifying families that student progress reports were available for viewing.

“Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that many users are intermittently experiencing an error message when selecting the link to access their child’s report,” the DDSB said.

It said its vendor had informed that they were experiencing a technical issue.

“We ask for your patience as the vendor works to resolve this problem,” the DDSB said.

It promised an update when the issue is resolved.

Parents and guardians reported they were getting a ‘504 timeout’ error. Others said they were unable to access these reports as the system was not responding.
