Durham police yesterday said a male is facing charges after stabbing another male in Bowmanville in the Municipality of Clarington.
On Monday, June 29 at about 5:30 am, police were contacted after the victim flagged down a passing motorist. Members of East Division responded to the area of Queen Street and Temperance Street.
The victim was near Rotary Park when he was stabbed multiple times. Officers and emergency medical personnel arrived on scene and provided life-saving care before the victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre in serious condition.
The victim’s condition has since been upgraded to stable, police said.
A short time later, officers located the suspect in the area of Liberty Street South and Prince Street. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect, age 65 from Clarington, faces multiple charges including attempted murder. He was held for a bail hearing. See name and further details at www.drps.ca.
