Stolen Dodge Ram driver rams cruiser, tries to dodge arrest

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) said even though the driver of stolen car tried to flee officers, he could not get far and was arrested.

Suspect in a stolen Dodge Ram attempted to flee from officers on Tuesday morning, said a police statement. He struck a parked cruiser but was arrested without incident. The 27-year-old Oshawa man was arrested, and now faces 14 criminal charges. There were no injuries to the officers.

On Tuesday December 28, officers from the Central East Division found a stolen Dodge Ram pickup truck parked in a commercial lot on Simcoe Street. When the officers tried to approach the driver, he tried to flee, striking a parked police cruiser.

The stolen vehicle was seized. police found stolen plates, brass knuckles and drugs.
