These guns were found with a gang of five young males

Durham Police yesterday said four adults and one youth are in custody following the completion of an investigation (Project Springfield) into gun and drug possession.

On Friday, March 8, members of the Gun and Gang Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the DRPS Surveillance Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit, Central East Division Community Response Team, Tactical Support Unit, and Peterborough Police Tactical Support Unit, executed search warrants at three residences in Ajax and Oshawa.

As a result, numerous firearms, and a large quantity of drugs were found and seized, said police.

One suspect, age 36, another age 32, both, third age 32 and fourthage 23 from Oshawa were charged. A 17-year-old male from Ajax was also charged.
