Just arrest me, says drunk driver three times over the limit

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said a 29-year-old male from Kawaratha Lakes has been arrested for driving while impaired after he collided with a parked vehicle and struck numerous areas of a residence, causing significant damage.

On Wednesday March 6 at about 1:30am, members of DRPS North Division responded to a vehicle collision in the area of Brock Concession Road 7 and Lake Ridge Road in Sunderland.

A vehicle had driven off the roadway colliding with a parked car and striking numerous areas of a residence, causing significant damage, police said.

Officers arrived on the scene and located a male and female. The male, who was determined to be the driver, had obvious signs of alcohol consumption and impairment. When questioned about how much alcohol he had consumed, he told police to just arrest him. He was taken into custody without incident.

Fortunately, the driver, nor anyone around or inside the residence, sustained any physical injuries.

A male was charged. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

He completed two alcohol breath tests with results of 261mg and 260mg off alcohol in 100ml of blood. The legal driving limit for alcohol consumption is 80mg of alcohol and 100ml of blood. This driver blew over three times the legal limit, police said.
