Threat-making suspect held after short police pursuit

Durham Regional Police Sevice (DRPS) yesterday said a man was reported to be making threats in public at a plaza in the western part of Durham.

They did not specify the location nor the nature of the threats. No name was released. This is the second case of threats made in recent days (see below).

A statement said a 28-year old male was arrested after uttering threats at a shopping plaza in West Division on Sunday March 26 at about 6 pm.

It said the man was armed with a knife.

However, before the arrival of the police, the suspect left in a vehicle. Police found the car, and a short pursuit was initiated, resulting in the suspect beng arrested without incident, police said.

The suspect now faces charges.
