Two stopped for doing +40kmh over speed limit

It appears Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) is on a region-wide traffic safety campaign considering the number of violators it is catching from all parts of Durham.

The latest in the net are from Bowmanville area in Clarington.

DRPS East Division yesterday reported that two drivers were “caught within minutes of each other” doing more than 40kmh over the speed limit.

The incident happened Friday morning in the area of Bowmanville Avenue, south of Regional Road #20.

The first stop was a G2 driver doing 124kmh in a 80-zone.

The second traffic stop was a driver – with two young children in the vehicle – doing 123kmh in a 80-zone.

“Slow down,” said a police advisory.
