The Town of Whitby announced it is looking to select an official tree during National Forest Week.
It is conducting a public survey to help determine which tree would be most suitable for the title.
It urged residents to take a short survey and vote from now through October 9, for the Town of Whitby’s Official Tree at ConnectWhitby.ca/OfficialTree.
The tree with the highest number of votes will become Whitby’s Official Tree and will be planted at town hall next year.

Each voter will be automatically entered in a draw to win a $150 LEAF gift card that can be used for any of the following LEAF programs:
- Tree Tenders Volunteer Training Program
- Full-Service Tree Planting Program
- Do-It-Yourself Tree Planting Program or Shrubs
- Garden Kits and Pawpaws
