The Town of Whitby announced that effective yesterday, June 1, parking meter and parking lot rates will increase across the town by $0.15 and $0.10 per hour, respectively.
It reminded residents and visitors that parking is free weekdays after 6 pm and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
The town’s website yesterday said motorists can use one of 274 parking meters for on-street parking spaces throughout the downtown.
Maximum parking is two hours for a rate of $1.65 per hour.
