Firefighters, vets, tow firm rescue mare from well

It must not have been an easy task, given the size of the animal and the constricted deep confines of a well, but Durham heroes can rise to any challenge.

“Yesterday (Tuesday May 30), our team was challenged to rescue a mare who had fallen into a well,” said a tweet from Mark Berney, Township of Scugog Fire Chief.

“Firefighter creativity along with Port Perry Veterinary Clinic and Pindars Towing, worked towards a successful rescue,” he said. “Well done team.”

Yesterday, we reported how two pets were rescued from a house fire in Clarington, one requiring CPR to save its life (see below).
