Ajax natural gas leak has been repaired

Town of Ajax and utility provider Enbridge Gas yesterday announced that full repairs to a main pipeline that ruptured on Tuesday January 10, have been completed.

The rupture caused a natural gas leak in a part of Ajax, forcing police to close the area. Durham District School Board (DDSB) placed eight of its schools in the area under a Shelter-in-Place.

“Enbridge Gas crews have completed the repair work with support from Lakeside… roads in the area have reopened. Thank you for your patience,” said a town tweet.

Enbridge Gas said: “Repairs are now complete in Town of Ajax in the area of Church Street North and Delaney Drive. Thank you to Emergency Responders, Ajax Fire [and] DRPS.”
