Design underway on Downtown Oshawa Urban Square

Oshawa is developing the Downtown Oshawa Urban Square, located at the intersection of Bond Street East and Simcoe Street North in the heart of downtown Oshawa.

The city yesterday said the square will be a unique focal point of downtown Oshawa, hosting community celebrations, events and concerts that appeal to both community members and visitors, bringing vitality and excitement into the downtown core.

The development includes:

  • Site furnishings
  • Pathways
  • Tree plantings and naturalizations, and
  • Public art installations

The project is seeking comments related to the accessibility of the square including  pathways and site furniture. No artist rendering was made available.

Community members are invited to visit Oshawa.ca/UrbanSquare to learn more about the project and how to provide feedback for finalizing design plans.

Feedback will be received until noon on November 30, and will be considered as part of the design. Community members who prefer to share their feedback on paper or over the phone are asked to contact Service Oshawa at 905-436-3311 during business hours.
