Dirt bikes walked home after police education

The Ministry of Transport (MTO) has formulated road- and off-road rules to ensure safety and smooth flow of traffic.

But, sometimes, these rules have to be explained to road users – some for their faulty memory, and to some less-experienced drivers as two dirt bike riders found out in Uxbridge yesterday.

North Division police officers counselled the two dirt bike riders on the regulations of the Off Road Vehicle Act while on the property of Joseph Gould Public School.

The dirt bikes were walked home, police said.

Unacceptable

Meanwhile, DRPS Traffic Services said driving at 120 in a 60kmh zone in Mrytle, in the Town of Whitby is unacceptable.

“Remember, stunt driving comes [with] a 14-day impound and 30-day [driving licence] suspension at roadside and significant penalties upon conviction,” it said.
