Durham Traffic Alert: Taunton restrictions and more…

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) in the City of Pickering.

  • When: March 14 and continuing through the week until completion. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
  • Where: The westbound curb lane on Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) at the intersection of Burkholder Drive, in the City of Pickering.
  • Why: To safely conduct watermain work to support new development.

Water pressure fluctuation may result from the watermain work in the area, said a media release. The Region realizes that the construction work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians and work crews.

Reduced speed limit on Saintfield Road

The Regional Municipality is also advising residents and motorists of the reduced speed limit from the existing 80 kmh to 60 kmh on Saintfield Road (Regional Road 6) from Provincial Highway 12 to Simcoe Street (Regional Road 2) in the Township of Scugog.

  • When: Reduced speed limit is currently in effect until May 31.
  • Where: Saintfield Road (Regional Road 6) from Provincial Highway 12 to Simcoe Street (Regional Road 2) in the Township of Scugog.
  • Why: To safely facilitate road maintenance and repair.

Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.

New all way stop signs in Brock

The Township of Brock has advised residents of new all way stop signs have been installed at the intersection of Rennie Street and Albert Street in Sunderland.

“Please drive with caution and obey all traffic signage for the safety of all pedestrians and vehicular traffic,” it said.
