Have your say on 119 new homes proposed for Clarington

The Municipality of Clarington is inviting residents to provide feedback on two proposed development projects in Bowmanville at an upcoming meeting.

Officials emphasize that these proposals have not yet been approved and are in the early stages of the planning process. Municipal staff will evaluate each application based on its merits, suitability, and community feedback.

Proposed Development at 500 Mearns Avenue

Bousfields Inc., on behalf of Stylux Bowmanville Inc., has submitted applications for an Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment to develop 97 residential units at 500 Mearns Avenue. The proposal includes:

  • Three-storey link townhouses
  • An internal private road and amenity area

The total site area is 5.43 acres (2.2 hectares). Additional applications for Site Plan Control and a Draft Plan of Condominium will be submitted at a later stage.

Proposed Development at 3071 Bowmanville Avenue

KLM Planning Partners Inc., on behalf of 2265719 Ontario Inc., has submitted applications for a Zoning By-law Amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision at 3071 Bowmanville Avenue.

This proposal includes plans to build 22 street-related townhomes on 1.27 acres (0.52 hectares) of a larger 12.7-acre (5.14-hectare) site.
