Palestine-Israel conflict protest in Pickering today

City of Pickering announced that today (Saturday) from approximately 4-6 pm, there will be a protest taking place with respect to the Palestine-Israel conflict.

“While this is not a city organized/permitted event – participants will be exercising their constitutional rights by holding a peaceful protest,” said a city statement.

“Please be advised that on Saturday, May 29th from approximately 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, there will be a protest taking place with respect to the Palestine-Israel conflict.

“The walking protest route will start at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex; wind its way through Valley Farm Road; Kingston Road; Liverpool Road; back to Gleanna Road, and end at Esplanade Park,” said the city statement.

It said the protest walk may result in some  traffic congestion if passing vehicles slow down to observe the protest.

It said city By-law Offices and DRPS are aware of the protest, and will work together to ensure everyone’s safety.
