Proactive patrol leads to woman’s weapons, drug arrest

Durham Police yesterday said a 30-year-old female from Oshawa is facing weapons and drug related charges.

On Monday, September 4, members of Central East Division conducted a proactive patrol in the downtown core of Oshawa, when they observed a known female near the Beer Store on Centre Street.

The female was wanted on an outstanding warrant with another police service, and was taken into custody without incident, said a police statement.

The female was searched and found to be in possession of two throwing knives, a hunting knife, a multicolored switch blade, a silver baton, and a black pellet gun, contrary to a current weapons prohibition, it added.

She was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

Anyone with new information about this investigation is asked to contact Cst. Fluxgold of Central East Division at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5200.

Editor’s Note: Durham Post does not name the accused as:
