Store altercation leads to knife threat and theft

Police have arrested a male suspect in connection with an armed robbery at a convenience store in Oshawa.

According to Durham police, on Monday, July 7, officers from East Division responded to a robbery in the area of King Street East and Townline Road South.

The suspect entered the store and got into an altercation with an employee. During the incident, he reportedly brandished a knife, threatened the employee, and stole several items before fleeing the scene.

The following day, members of the Robbery Unit located the suspect and arrested him without incident.

Police later executed a Criminal Code search warrant at the suspect’s residence, where they seized evidence related to the robbery.

A 25-year-old male of Oshawa, was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
