Suspicious item found near Brock and Bayly

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday announced that yet another suspicious package has been found – this time in Pickering.

DRPS said it received a call about a suspicious package at around 2:40 pm in the area of Brock Road and Bayly Street, in Pickering.

It said a team from the West Division located the suspicious item and set up a perimeter. The police explosives team was contacted. It asked the public to avoid the area.

Later, DRPS said: “The package was rendered safe by our Explosive Disposal Unit. No threat to public safety.”

No further details were available till late last night. However, a police tweet said “more info to come”.
