Whitby man held in human trafficking case

A Whitby male was arrested Monday in Whitby in relation to a human trafficking investigation.

In December of 2020, the Human Trafficking Unit commenced an investigation after complaints from a 23-year-old female regarding human trafficking. The suspect, Nathan Green, procured the 23-year-old female to work for him as an escort in the sex trade.

Human Trafficking investigators arrested the suspect and he is facing numerous Human Trafficking charges, police said.

Nathan Green, age 24, of Wood Drive in Whitby, was arrested and charged with: Procuring/Exercise Control; Trafficking in Persons by Recruiting; Material Benefit Trafficking Persons Over 18; Material Benefit from Sexual Services; Advertising Sexual Services and Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration.

He was held for a bail hearing.
