Courtice Waterfront and Energy Park Secondary Plan

The purpose of this plan (and the implementing Official Plan Amendment) is to provide land use planning policies and design guidelines that will create Clarington’s premier, prestige employment centre and create a large waterfront park along the Lake Ontario shoreline.

These are proposed to be complemented with a new residential and mixed-use neighbourhood, said a municipal notice.

There is a unique and complementary relationship between these areas that will make this part of Courtice the optimal location for premium jobs and a showcase destination along Clarington waterfront. The Secondary Plan area includes the lands south of Highway 401, east of Darlington Provincial Park, and north of Lake Ontario.

Clarington is also seeking residents input on the Urban Design and Sustainability Guidelines that have been prepared to advance the vision of this plan.

The proposed Official Plan Amendment, including additional information, is available at www.clarington.net/CourticeWaterfront.
