Woman who yelled for help safe, police investigating

Durham Police yesterday said a woman who was seen yelling for help from a moving vehicle, is safe.

“The female has been identified. She is safe and the incident is being investigated by another police service as a domestic matter. DRPS would like to thank the media and public for their assistance,” said a police statement issued yesterday.

Last Sunday, police said on December 16 at about 1:40 pm, members of Central West Division were called the area of Bridle Road and Windfield Farms after two separate complainants advised they observed a female attempting to get out of a moving vehicle. The female appeared to be in distress and was yelling for help. The male driver was observed preventing the female from leaving the vehicle and sped off north on Bridle Road.

Anyone with new information about this investigation was asked to contact D/Cst. Adepegba of Central West Division at 1-888-579-1520 ext.1854.
